Matthew V. Rusch
Matt practices extensively in the areas of bankruptcy and creditors’ rights, employment law, commercial litigation, and general civil litigation. He has been with the firm since 2004.
Matt takes great pride in serving this country, having served on active duty with the U.S. Army Judge Advocate General’s Corps from 1999-2004, and he is a veteran of Operation Iraqi Freedom. While on active duty, he served as Special Assistant U.S. Attorney at Fort Riley, Kansas, a military prosecutor at Fort Lewis, Washington, and he deployed to Iraq to serve as legal advisor for an Army medical brigade. Since 2004, he has served in the United States Army Reserve and has worked in the areas of Operational Law and Administrative Law. He currently holds the rank of Lieutenant Colonel.
Over the past several years, Matt has been a frequent invited speaker to discuss various topics related to civil litigation at continuing legal education programs.

Matt actively serves in the United States Army Reserve as a Judge Advocate officer. He serves as an adult leader with Cub Scout Pack 570, and has served as a volunteer leader for a Boy Scouts of America Law Explorer post. Matt enjoys teaching young people about the legal profession, and he has volunteered time to speak to grade school students for Law Day almost every year since 2004. He is an active member of St. Pius X Parish and is a member of other civic organizations, including the Omaha Business Men’s Association. He is a member of the American Bankruptcy Institute.
Matt is a lifelong supporter of the Boy Scouts of America. He enjoys participating in Scouting activities with his sons. He is a graduate of the Army Command and General Staff College.
